Contemporary Black Oxford
The black oxford is so very formal by name. However, this style of oxford has micro punch detailing to the toe and to the heel creating a modern twist. This oxford can easily be worn within a business setting but the subtle effect gives character and a touch of the original to an otherwise formal shoe. The guide here at Gentlemen’s Gazette is illuminating and gives a good background of this shoe. The oxford is so called because it has a closed lacing system. The beginnings are said to be from students at Oxford uni who wore shoes with slits (more comfy than the other fastenings such as buttons). Eventually, the slits had laces inserted and the oxford as we know it was born.
Look After Your Shoes
We don’t want to sound like mother but it is important to keep shoes well kept. To begin, we recommend a protector spray and using shoe trees. These are a really good way of keeping shape and dealing with odours. Polish from time to time and your shoes will last longer.
