Tan Winklepicker Boot
This tan winklepicker boot is the epitome of underground style. Setting the scene in the 50s we had those cool quiffed Teddy Boys. However, they went on to the more solid looking shoe and left these pointed toe boots to the beck and call of the Mods. Now these were seriously stylish dudes who wore very crisp suits along with the winkle picker, otherwise known as Beatle Boot. However, it was way before either of these two that the pointy shoe was a thing. In fact, there was a shoe called the Crakow in the mid 14th century. These were worn by courtiers amongst others and were condemned by law! So when these boots are described as subversive..there is a history of it! See here for more.
How to Wear Winklepickers
First and foremost, with attitude. Then spades of confidence. Finally, with ownership. You decide how you style them up but one idea is that you could try the mod style. A slim fit suit with a crisp white shirt and thin tie would work with these boots. Everything is sleek and slim including the tip of the boot. Mix in the Teddy boy quiff and voila: super stylish looks. If you wanted a rockier indie edge then skinny jeans and a tee. A denim jacket works or a leather.
